Enjoy our luxury interiors and wild exteriors with self-catering accommodation either in a city apartment or a country cottage and a fun and enlightening walking tour of plants and fungi. This walking tour of plants and fungi is held in a perfect secluded location for families and friends, where kids burst with excitement with the vast open spaces and, adults can relax and recharge their batteries with plenty of fresh air.
We are very proud to be collaborating with Nev Kilkenny who is a Research Associate at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, a Consultant field mycologist- to the uninitiated that’s the biology of Fungi – basically what Nev doesn’t know about fungi isn’t worth knowing! Nev is also a keen forager and is passionate about sharing his knowledge of the plants that surround us.
This event is a foraging foray focussed on fungi and seasonal plants. Enjoy the fun and learn how to identify the species that you will encounter, discuss their function in the ecosystem and learn about their culinary, practical and medicinal uses.
You can choose to stay in luxury self-catering accommodation in one of our country cottages where you can soak in the bath, relax by the wood burning stove, listen to the birdsong in the gardens and feel invigorated with a couple of nights of food, fun and frolic under the stars in our very special secluded corner. Or stay in luxury self-catering accommodation in one of our city centre apartments in Edinburgh where you can soak up the city and all it has to offer after a truely invigorating experience in the country.
